A two-alarm fire Sunday evening at 856 Capp St. near 24th caused an estimated $440,000 worth of damage to a bungalow and surrounding businesses, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it appears to have started in a bungalow adjacent to the Iglesia del Pacto Evangelico, which is currently under renovation.

“Crews fought the bungalow fire defensively and worked at protecting surrounding structures,” said Fire Department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge.

Two nearby buildings suffered an estimated $190,000 worth of damage, including contents. The fire caused an estimated $250,000 worth of damage to the bungalow and its contents.

Sixty-six Fire Department personnel responded to the fire, which was reported at 5:16 p.m. and under control by 6:04 p.m., said Talmadge.

There were no injuries, she said.
