Two Assaults and a Robbery

A man was robbed at 24th Street and South Van Ness Avenue around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.

The victim was walking along the street when six suspects, described as teens from 15 to 17 years of age, approached him and knocked him to the ground. They took the man’s cash and fled on foot.

A man was assaulted with a deadly weapon at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday at 16th and Mission streets, according to police records.

The 59-year-old man was selling items at his stand when a female suspect between the ages of 25 and 35 approached and stole one the items.

The victim confronted her and they started fighting. During the fight, police said, the victim lost control of his cane. The suspect grabbed the cane and struck the man several times on the head.

The victim was able to get away and contact police.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in connection with an aggravated assault at 16th and Mission streets at 2:15 Wednesday morning.

The man was intoxicated, according to police, and swung a knife at pedestrians. He then cut a man’s shirt and began to yell.

Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody.
