A drug deal turned into an armed robbery Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
After a 37-year-old man sold a watch to a jewelry store, three men who were in the store and saw the transaction asked the victim if he wanted to buy some marijuana. The victim said yes and agreed to meet the suspects — estimated to be 19 years old — at a predetermined location, police said. Once the victim arrived, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and the other two robbed the man, taking his cellphone, wallet and cash before fleeing.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made, according to police. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Alabama between 24th and 25th streets.
