Shortly after 4:10 a.m. on Tuesday, a man was sitting on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of 15th Street near Mission, working on his laptop, when he was approached by two men. One suspect took the laptop and began to walk away, police said.
The victim followed the man and confronted him, at which point the other suspect struck the victim on the head with a metal object, possibly a pipe. The suspects fled northbound and the victim called the police.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects, both described as 25-year-old males, remain at large.
Police reported that a man was also attacked by three suspects on Monday around 8:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Valencia near 19th Street. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The victim, who suffered abrasions to his face, was unable to give any further information regarding the incident.
