Local artists and art enthusiasts meet at Rock Nation Cafe for the first Mission Community Art Fair

The idea for the Mission Community Art Fair planned for October 9 from came to Edward Perez, the owner of Rock the Nation Café, when he saw some art displayed in a Mission District window.

It belonged to Shaz Lawrence, and a couple of months ago, Perez and Lawrence started talking.

Since then they have been collaborating with a group of locals to bring food, art and music to 21st Street. “While many street fairs get organized on 24th Street, it will be great to see pockets of art on this side of the Mission as well!” said Rodolfo Padilla, a longtime Mission resident and one of the event’s organizers.

The Community Art Fari will be held on October 9th on 21st street (between Alabama and Harrison) from 10am to 6 pm.
