With our very modest operating budget, we rely on the support of the community to supplement our resources. Every summer we sponsor a free festival to showcase our Urban Youth Arts Program. This year, we must solicit donations to host the event, The 14th Annual Urban Youth Arts Festival, which takes place on Saturday, July 24th, 2010, from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, in Precita Park, located on the corner of Precita Avenue and Folsom Street.
With your help, we will bring youth together for a positive experience and a day filled with art, fun, and food. Temporary blank walls placed around the park allow spaces for artists of all ages to paint. We also provide a stage for live performances by youth entertainers. This event offers a platform for youth to express themselves artistically in a safe and public environment, and where everyone can celebrate youth and art.
Our needs for the festival follow:
• Complementary food and beverages for all attendees
• Art supplies for painting on temporary walls
• A well equipped stage and sound equipment
Based on past years, we expect approximately 200-300 people to attend the festival. Won’t you please consider making an in-kind or monetary donation to support our youth?
