We like store openings, especially on Valencia Street because it’s so much nicer to see local businesses than walk by empty storefronts. The newest kid on the block is Goteblüd, opening this Friday, May 8th. The store/gallery will buy and sell vintage zines and magazines. Check out the opening party from 7 to 9 p.m. at 766 Valencia Street.

The San Francisco Bay Guardian reports that Kaushik Dattani won a judgment to evict four families from their rent-controlled apartments at 19th and Lexington streets. The owner received a loan from Circle Bank of Marin in 2007. The contract stipulated that Dattani would take the units off the rental market, renovate the building, and sell the units as tenants-in-common (TICs).

Dancing in the streets–well on the fire escape to be more exact–That’s what seems to have taken place on Osage Alley according to Thinksketchdesign.com.

Before we sign off, we’d like to remind you that tomorrow is Mission Loc@l’s photo show at L’s Caffe! We’re looking forward to seeing you there. In the meantime, check out ML’s Armand Emamdjomeh’s new photo column.
